Digital Planner/Buyer

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create and present digital media recommendations
  • Responsible for managing all day-to-day planning/buying activity for assigned account(s) inclusive of planning, buying, reporting, trafficking, revisions, optimizations and billing
  • Develop on-point media strategies, backed with supporting rationale, to ensure digital campaigns reach the right target audience at the right time in the most effective and efficient way
  • Attends client meetings and presents recommendations
  • Assist on research, strategy and development of insights

Digital Media Skills

  • Filters research findings and assists in converting to actionable media insights
  • Develops media objectives and strategies based on client brief and proposed media solutions
  • Send and reviews RFPs and filters/negotiate for most suitable proposals
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of all campaign documentation including authorization to buy, insertion orders, trafficking, billing, campaign delivery and terms
  • Engages and works with team for any tagging/reporting requirements
  • Proposes optimization recommendations based upon performance data
  • Analyzes web metrics, provides campaign effectiveness reporting to clients and recommend optimizations when appropriate to improve media performance

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate owned areas of campaigns, both orally and in writing
  • Active participant in sales representative meetings
  • Evolves relationships with sales community
  • Advanced proficiency in development of PPT presentations

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in field of online advertising, preferably in a Junior Media Planner/Buyer role
  • Develop and execute digital media plans, buys and ad serving
  • Knowledge of all aspects of digital media, including display, DSP, SEM, audio, social media, video, and mobile
  • Must be proficient working with DoubleClick for Advertisers (formerly DART) or other relevant 3rd party ad server (e.g. Sizmek)
  • Manage buy stewardship and delivery, analyze campaigns, and recommend tactical changes to maximize campaign performance
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Confidently present to clients and listen/adapt based on feedback
  • Ability to work with modest media budgets

Below Experience Is A Plus

  • Experience working specifically within a media department
  • Experience analyzing data
  • Research and compiling competitive data with interactive research tools; Comscore, MRI, Ad Relevance, @plan, and Media Metrix
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with solid understanding of mathematical concepts
  • Proficient in analytics platforms and analyzing web metrics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, etc.)
  • Experience working in Strata
  • Knowledge of current and emerging media planning technology (e.g. Channel Planning)
  • Develops and executes paid search campaign and optimizations in Google AdWords/Bing Ads
