Senior Digital Media Planner/Buyer

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and executing all day-to-day planning/buying activities for assigned accounts inclusive but not limited to research, planning, RFP management, buying, reporting, trafficking, revisions, optimizations and billing
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of all campaign documentation including authorization to buy, insertion orders, trafficking, billing, campaign delivery and T&C’s
  • Develop media objectives and strategies based on client brief and propose digital media solutions
  • Develop on-point media strategies, backed with supporting rationale, to ensure digital campaigns reach the right target audience at the right time in the most effective and efficient way
  • Responsible for the development and execution of a measurement plan for all digital media actives that correlates to client business objectives
  • Attends client meetings and presents recommendations

Digital Media Skills

  • Filters research findings and converts to actionable media insights
  • Investigates and utilizes information from syndicated research sources (e.g., Comscore, MRI, Ad Relevance, @plan, and Media Metrix)
  • Proficient in analytics platforms and analyzing web metrics tools (Google Analytics, WebTrends, Adobe Site Catalyst, etc.) to provide campaign effectiveness reporting and recommend optimizations to improve performance
  • Stays apprised of industry standards, new media programs/opportunities and can advise on new ways to reach target audiences
  • Master of media math and how to apply calculations

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate owned areas of campaigns, both orally and in writing
  • Confidently present to clients and listen/adapt based on feedback
  • Active participant in sales representative meetings
  • Evolves relationships with sales community
  • Advanced proficiency in development of PPT presentations and excel
  • Assist in training junior staff to develop core competencies

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in field of online advertising, preferably as a Digital Media Buyer
  • Develop and execute digital media plans, buys and trafficking through an ad serving
  • Must be proficient working in DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM) or other 3rd party ad server
  • Working knowledge of the primary digital media channels including display, DSP, audio, social media, video, email, and mobile
  • Manage buy stewardship and delivery, analyze campaigns, and recommend tactical changes to maximize campaign performance
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with solid understanding of mathematical concepts

Below Experience Is A Plus

  • Working knowing of verification and viewability tools (e.g., MOAT, IAS)
  • Experience working in Strata
  • Develop and execute paid search campaigns and optimizations in Google AdWords/Bing AdCenter
  • Familiarity with tools used to measure the effectiveness of media (e.g. Nielsen DBE, attribution platforms, AAU study, custom studies, floodlight tags, etc.)
