Houston Honda Dealers and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation invite all motorcycle enthusiasts to join them in the fight against childhood brain tumors at the 17th Annual Houston Ride for Kids® Road Ride Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Humble Civic Center. Proceeds from the ride will help ensure that the medical community has the resources necessary to find new treatments, enhance the lives of survivors and ultimately, eliminate this most deadly form of childhood cancer.
After the ride, local children will tell their stories at the Celebration of Life program, and awards will be presented to the top fundraisers, where one lucky participant will win a brand new Honda Motorcycle.
This event continues to grow every year. The 2008 Houston Ride for Kids® raised $283,728, and there are expected to be at least 1,200 riders this year with the hopes of raising $300,000.
“Whether you ride a Honda, Harley or Yamaha, we need your help in this fight against childhood brain tumors,” Ronnie Lunsford, Houston Ride for Kids® Task Force Leader.
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is the world’s leading nonprofit foundation for pediatric brain tumor research and family support. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and a minimum $35 donation is required to ride.
